Castor Oil is known as a vegetable oil which is extracted by castor beans. Castor oil is used in perfumes, soaps, lubricants, paints and pharmaceuticals. This oil is really thick because it’s rich in “Ricinoleic acid”. Ricinoleic acid is a major component of castor oil which has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to reduce hair loss up to 90%, on regular application. Castor oil is used as super hydrating and nourishing moisturizer for hair and skin.
USE & BENEFITS OF CASTOR OIL
1. Castor oil is never applied on hair alone unless your scalp is super dry. Always take small portion of other oils with castor oil when you have to apply it on your hair. Basic oil is castor oil and coconut oil, ratio should be 1:2. You can also use or mix argon oil, olive oil and jojoba oil with castor oil. If you are creative, enough the new some aromatherapy along with the
castor oil use two to three drops of Essential oil with castor
oil. Tea tree oil or rose hip oil anything you like. My personal favorite is Lavender oil.
2. Castor oil can be applied on bald spots. Castor oil makes the hair fuller and dense thus creating a voluminous look
on the hair. It repairs the dried scalp 93% faster than the other oils.
Massaging castor oil on the bald spots twice a week is enough. Do not over
apply the oil as it can cause clogging of dirt and sebum and loosening of
hair through the follicles.
3. If you are a girl who regrets cutting her hair really short and now
wants long hair back then castor oil is right choice for you. Castor oil can
really fast up the growth process of the hair. Using castor oil for 2 to 3
months on your hair can accelerate the hair growth. Normally your hair grows
1.5 to 2 cm per month but on the application of castor oil it can grow up to
2 to 3 times faster than normal. I personally used it for 4 months, last
year I chopped my hair till shoulder length but now after using castor oil,
it has come till the elbows.
4. Castor oil can also resolve Hair problem such as dandruff, folliculitis and other scalp infections. Castor oil has antibacterial and
anti-fungal properties. When we don’t pay attention to our hair it starts to
itch. Itching of the scalp is an alarm that fungal formation has taken
place. And this results in flaky scalp which mostly is “dandruff”. Therefore,
it is important to keep scalp hygienic and hydrated by using Castor oil it
can reduce the fungus buildup and nourish the scalp.
5. Castor oil has a lot of Vitamin E as well as other fatty acids,
these ingredients make the hair shiny and strong from the roots. Even if you
have dry hair or split ends due to some hair treatment you had in the past,
then castor oil comes really handy. It softens the ends of the hair giving
them and non-fizzy look. Sometimes our hair can get frizzy and dull due to
regular washes, in that case use castor oil and leave it overnight or you
can also use castor oil 15-30 minutes prior to the hair wash.
6. Castor oil is known for its anti-fungal and antibacterial
properties. It has a thick texture which is rich in vitamin E, Ricinoleic
acid and other fatty acids. It is a great hydrator and nourishes skin very
well. You can always facially massage with castor oil followed by a steam;
this can really open up the pores and remove the dirt and blackheads. The
removal of blackheads and dirt from the pores can actually stop acne and
whitehead formation on your skin and give you a dewy and glowing look.
7. Nowadays people have dark colored lips due to sun exposure, which
results in pigmentation. To reduce pigmentation, you can always use few drops
of castor oil with other oil such as rose hip oil, olive oil or even lemon
juice it really lightens the pigmentation of your lips and also fixes
chapped lips instantly. You can also leave the lips with oil overnight, like
a lip balm.
8. Castor oil is also known as for its anti-aging properties. It contains anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant which help to fight
free radicals and slow down aging. If you are in your twenties and haven’t
given a thought to aging yet, then you may begin to use these remedies
because as we start to age, after 23 we tend to lose collagen from a skin
which leads to sagging of skin causing wrinkles.
9. It is a good remedy for dry and flaky skin. Now you know that the
texture of castor oil is thick, and it contains vitamin E fatty acid and
antioxidants. You can also incorporate castor oil with your daily skin care
routine and in face mask. For face mask take out one lemon, 2 teaspoon of
castor oil, one teaspoon of rose water and you can also add some powdered
agents such as Neem powder or Multani Miti (Fuller earth clay) mix them all
together and then apply on your face and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes you
can also use this on your skin care routine as a moisturizer but in a small
amount as it is very thick and you don’t want a feeling of thick
moisturizer on your face.
