FROM WHERE SELFCARE STARTS

What Bugs Us? Can We Cure It by SELFCARE?

“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
A perfect opening line for my blog. Generations after generations, a load of mental stress keeps piling up on our lives. As humans, we have the tendency to get the best out of the worst — and vice versa.

We don’t give a chance to today, by thinking about tomorrow so much that we end up wasting today with zero productivity. Each person on Earth is somehow different from the other. Each one has different ways of dealing with situations — some need external help, and some manage to get their way worked out.

BUT in this evolving abyss, one thing has been constant (but not very common) within humans — and that is SELFCARE.

I love myself. When I smile, I gently embrace my being — eyes closed, heart full. In this quiet moment, I feel comfort, pleasure, and fulfillment. Even with my ego, I accept myself completely and unapologetically.

SELFCARE?

What is the theory of selfcare? Why is it so important?

There might be fewer questions about selfcare, but not everyone understands the true meaning of it. Neither do I! Or… do I?

Selfcare, self-love, self-aid, self-help — a single notion and so many names. Similarly, the meaning of selfcare is different for every person, as each one faces different challenges at different phases of life.

“For an eight-year-old kid, selfcare could be eating candies or playing. For a teenager, it could be trying out new Instagram reel trends. For an adult, it could be going out to places of interest. For elders, it could be spending quality time with family.” The constant in all of this is happiness.

Wherever there is happiness, there is selfcare. But — can we define selfcare only by the things we like to enjoy? NO! There are so many things a person can do that might have a negative impact but still make them feel happy. So how can we truly understand it?

Selfcare has a simple rule:
SEE YOURSELF STEPPING UP! Do things that make you better than what you were yesterday. Try to focus on that. Honestly, it might not be a big leap but again see yourself stepping up, even if they are baby steps.

DOES IT EVER GET BETTER?

We never know what the future holds. One could live or die the next moment, get rich or lose the stocks in second. But if you waste today, you are in a never-ending impasse. There are moments in our lives where we reach a point of no return — and mentally, it can be extremely difficult to explain to another person what we are going through. Time stops. And you feel like there is no one who can help you through it. But time is the biggest healer. Whatever you’re going through, whatever your mind is complexing.

STOP! PAUSE! BREATHE!

“Try to CUT THE CORD from what’s bothering you.
Hold yourself knowing how important and grateful you are — to EXIST.”

There is no such thing as a real dilemma —

  • We all know, deep down, what we want.
  • What is right.
  • Who is toxic.
  • So, take a decision, no matter where it takes you. Take a leap towards selfcare. Think of what you want and where you want yourself to be in this lifetime. Take your time to plan positive things for yourself — for your own growth — which also feeds your soul and calms your mind. I come from a place where I understand the struggle to crawl out of the emptiness.

And I assure you —It gets better, sooner than you think. Because you got it in yourself.
